Commemorative Service – LCPL Peter McDuff

Lance Corporal Peter Edward McDuff was in 5 Section, 11 Platoon, D Company on 28th September 1967 in Nui Dat South Vietnam when he and the rest of D Company, et al, attended a firepower demonstration of the 2.75 inch rocket fired from a Huey gunship.  There was a terrible accident when one rocket fell short of the target area and exploded among the assembled troops.  Peter McDuff was killed instantly.

His body was repatriated to Australia and buried in a family plot in the Darlington Point Cemetery, Darlington Point NSW, 38 km south of Griffith in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area of central NSW.

A commemorative service was conducted at Peter’s graveside on Friday 22nd April 2016.
